OUTFIT | PINSTRIPE TROUSERS

The trends that have been 'in' this year have kind of been a little less of a priorty this past year. Over the past couple of years I worked very hard on finding and defining my personal style. I felt like I needed a fresh start a few years back. I wanted to look grown up, sophisticated. So I threw all of my clothes from high school away and started all over. Fast forward four years, and here we are. I feel like I know what I want inside of my wardrobe and I know how I want to look.

Now that I have built my wardrobe with basics, such as jeans and basic tees, I feel like I am slowly starting to expand my style a bit more. Of course I will never really be as adventurous as anyone else, because that's just not what I like. This past year I have been trying to invest in trousers, I used to buy just black jeans, but I am slowly trying to invest in smart trousers.

Buying trousers is an absolute nightmare for me. I am petite, I am only 160 cm, and most trousers don't fit me. And somehow my legs are even shorter than most other petite girls, because most of the 'petite' trousers are even too long for me. This past year I have been searching for a pair of pinstripe trousers. I tried many on in stores, but they always seemed way too long for me. But after eyeing up many, many pinstripe trousers for the past year, I finally did bite that bullet and got myself a pair of pinstripe trousers.

Pinstripe trousers are a pair of trousers that are so classy. They are a timeless item of clothing that can be worn when you're at uni or when you have an office job. They are easy to style and make an outfit look so chic.

PINSTRIPES TO UNI

Let's be honest, we're all a bit tired as students at university and all we crave being comfortable while being in lectures. And as much as we would like to go out in pyjama's, I would never, ever do that. You never know who you might run into at uni, especially now that I am in my final two years of uni. There might be job opportunities lying around everywhere, so I want to look somewhat put together. I don't know if that's something that I inherited from my mum, wanting to look put together. But when looking put together, we also want to be comfortable.

Try styling your pinstripe trousers with a nice oversized jumper. Finish your look with a pair of trainers, loafers or mules. And without thinking about your outfit too much, you look put together while you're at uni. It looks like you made an effort, when in reality we just rolled out of bed and put those comfy trousers and a jumper on. You look put together, but in reality are so damn comfortable.

PINSTRIPES TO WORK

Wearing pinstripes to work also makes for an easy outfit. While I was interning at an office earlier this year, I craved comfort. Comfort is key in my life, especially when I'm sitting behind a desk all day. Dressing a pair of pinstripe trousers up for work is a lot easier than dressing them down.

If you're in doubt of how to style these easy trousers, then keep reading. If you work in a casual-posh work space, then wearing pinstripes with a jumper would be fine. Or wearing a pair of pinstripe trousers with a tee is perfectly fine! Pair them with a pair of trainers, loafers of mules to be even more comfortable.

But if your work has a bit more of a certain dresscode, try pairing those pinstripe trousers with a blouse or a shirt. Top it off with a pinstripe blazer and you will end up looking like a complete girlboss in a pinstripe suit. Pair them with a pair of heels and you're ready to kick ass.

What I'm wearing:
ZARA tee (similar)
Mango trousers (similar)
Ego mules (similar)
